Glen Marais Driveway & Kerbing
Cobblestone driveway, kerbing and stormwater falls on a sloped residential approach.
- Area
- 310 m²
- Base
- 150 mm G5
- Fall
- 1 : 60
- Snags
- 2 closed
The brief
An existing driveway had failed twice on a thin base and was ponding water against the garage threshold. The client wanted the surface rebuilt properly rather than patched a third time.
How it was built
- 01Failed surface lifted and the sub-base tested before any new material was ordered.
- 02Levels reset to move water away from the threshold and into a new channel.
- 03Setting-out lines pegged and approved with the client before laying started.
- 04Edge restraint and kerbing cast first so the field could be laid tight to a fixed line.
Outcome
Handed over in three weeks with no ponding after the first summer storm season. Two subsequent referrals in the same street.
